Facial Fillers – Sakarya: Cheek, Jawline and Under-Eye

Information on facial fillers

Facial fillers are procedures using temporary hyaluronic acid products to assess volume loss, proportion differences or contour irregularities. Lip fillers are covered on a separate page; this page covers the other areas of the face.

Areas assessed

Support and proportions in the cheek, contour of the jawline and chin, hollowness under the eyes, the nasolabial fold and volume loss in the temple are assessed separately. Dark under-eye circles are not always caused by volume loss; when pigmentation or thin skin is the cause, a filler may not be appropriate. Fillers in the nose carry a higher risk because of its blood vessels and require very careful assessment.

Purpose and expectations

The aim is a measured change in harmony with the whole face; each area is planned together with facial proportions. Hyaluronic acid fillers are not permanent; duration varies with the product, area and individual factors.

Treatment details

Duration: About 30–45 minutes.

Who it is for: Adults with volume loss or proportion differences in the cheekbones, jawline, under-eye area or temples.

Number of sessions: Usually a single session; a check-up after about 2 weeks is advised. The final plan is set by the physician after the examination.

Possible risks

Swelling, bruising, tenderness and temporary irregularities are common. Less commonly, infection, delayed nodules or oedema may develop. A rare but serious complication is vascular occlusion, which can cause tissue damage and, very rarely, vision loss. Severe increasing pain, whitening of the skin, a purple net-like discoloration or a change in vision requires urgent assessment.

Who may not be suitable?

An active infection in the area, allergy to a product component, pregnancy and breastfeeding, immune-related diseases and a bleeding tendency are assessed separately.

Aftercare

Avoiding pressure and massage on the area on the first day and briefly avoiding intense exercise and heat such as saunas may be advised. A follow-up after the swelling settles is recommended.

Frequently asked questions

Are facial fillers permanent?

No. Hyaluronic acid fillers are temporary and can be dissolved with hyaluronidase when needed.

Is an under-eye filler suitable for everyone?

No. The cause of the under-eye appearance is determined at the examination; in some cases other methods are considered instead.

What is the difference between a biostimulator and a filler?

A filler adds volume directly; biostimulators aim to create a tissue response over time. The choice depends on the goal and the examination findings.
