Information on hyaluronic acid filler procedures in Sakarya and Serdivan

Hyaluronic acid fillers are temporary medical products used to assess volume, proportion, or contour in the lips, cheeks, jawline, and selected areas of the face. Planning for lip fillers is based not only on increasing volume but also on lip anatomy, facial proportions, existing asymmetry, tissue characteristics, and the person’s expectations.

Effect and duration

A systematic evaluation of randomized trials investigating hyaluronic acid lip fillers reported improvements in fullness and appearance, while also showing that adverse effects may occur frequently. The outcome varies according to the characteristics of the product used, the treatment plan, and the individual tissue response. The effect is not permanent, and the same appearance cannot be achieved in every person.

Common and serious possible risks

Swelling, tenderness, bruising, firmness, asymmetry, and temporary irregularities may occur. Infection, a delayed nodule, or an inflammatory reaction is less common. A rare but serious complication is vascular occlusion, which may result in tissue damage and, very rarely, vision loss. Urgent medical assessment is required if increasing severe pain, whitening of the skin, a reticular purple discoloration, or a change in vision develops after the procedure.

Who requires additional assessment?

An active lip or cold-sore infection, a skin infection in the treatment area, known sensitivity to a product component, pregnancy or breastfeeding, immune-related diseases, a bleeding tendency, and medications that affect bleeding should be discussed with the physician. Eligibility is assessed individually after an examination and review of the medical history.
